On Wednesday, March 24, 2010, the Lyman Ward Rangers baseball team received a very exciting gift. A new batting cage was installed on campus to help the team improve their hitting skills.
This
wonderful addition was made possible by Mr. Thad Estes, father of former Cadet
Mobley Estes. Mr. Estes made a generous donation to the baseball team, which
helped with the purchase of the batting cage, crush and run gravel, and the
cement pad on which the cage was built on. In addition to the donation helping
with the batting cage, it also helped to purchase uniforms, baseballs, and
bases.
Mr. Scott Bieber, father of Cadet Alex Bieber, donated support poles, netting for the cage, and the labor to complete the project. Cadet Bieber is a pitcher on the Rangers baseball team.
LWMA wishes to show their appreciation for the support from parents, alumni, and staff for their first year back on the diamond after 25 years. Go Rangers!
