On Saturday, March 27, 2010, the Lyman Ward Rangers travelled to Smith Mountain for an afternoon of rappelling and mountaineering. The Rangers utilized rappelling techniques on a 45 foot rock face. The Rangers had practiced for several weeks on campus prior to the Smith Mountain trip.
The Lake Martin Jazzmasters Orchestra entertained the cadet corps and guests on April 6th in The Smith Auditorium.
On Wednesday, March 24, 2010, the Lyman Ward Rangers baseball team received a very exciting gift.
Every year around Valentine’s weekend in February Lyman Ward cadets depart for Sugar Mountain, NC. Twenty-six 7th-12th grade cadets are chosen for the trip. The cadets stay at the Pineola Inn where they have stayed ever since the trip was first organized.
