• Cadet wins First Place Award at the Alabama State Junior Beta Convention
  

  Cadet Taylor Drouin received a 1st Place Award from the Alabama Junior Beta State Convention in March 2010. He entered his “Eagle” in the Sketching (Pen/Ink/Pencil) Category of the Arts and Crafts competition.

• Rangers-Smith Mountain Rappelling Trip
  

  On Saturday, March 27, 2010, the Lyman Ward Rangers travelled to Smith Mountain for an afternoon of rappelling and mountaineering. The Rangers utilized rappelling techniques on a 45 foot rock face. The Rangers had practiced for several weeks on campus prior to the Smith Mountain trip.

• LWMA Sugar Mountain Ski Trip
  

  Every year around Valentine’s weekend in February Lyman Ward cadets depart for Sugar Mountain, NC. Twenty-six 7^th-12^th grade cadets are chosen for the trip. The cadets stay at the Pineola Inn where they have stayed ever since the trip was first organized.

  For the first time in a quarter century, Lyman Ward will field a baseball team.
