Let me begin by giving kudos to the faculty and staff at Lyman Ward Military Academy. Without the guidance and support of your teachers and staff, we fell that our son Reggie would not have succeeded as much as he has in this short period of time.
Although your son is growing and becoming more independent, he still needs your help, interest, and encouragement. The process of navigating the waters of a military boarding school and pointing toward life after graduation is an adventure in which each of us plays a vital role.
The Academy’s Advanced Placement (AP) program, beginning its sixth year, continues to offer advanced students an opportunity to earn both high school and college credits. The on-line program is provided through Apex Learning, a company founded by Paul Allen, who is the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation.
Lyman Ward’s historic Senior Beta Club scholastic honor society inducted four new members during Homecoming Weekend last October. Membership in the Senior Beta Club is by invitation only. Cadet Benjamin Gardner, a fourth-year senior from Biddeford, ME, has already had a banner year. He represented the Academy as its nominee for the Tallapoosa County Tohopeka Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Program and Scholarship competition.
