A Word from Coach Sheldon Ward

A Letter from Coach Sheldon Ward

Varsity Head Football Coach

The major goal of an interscholastic athletic program is the same as for any other educational program:   To provide students with the opportunity to develop to their maximum potential and to teach life skills. At the same time at Lyman Ward Military Academy we strive to honor God in all we do. Athletics and activities play a big part in the overall experience at LWMA. We offer a variety of competitive sports both at the junior high school and high school level. Lyman Ward Military Academy competes in the state association of the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) at the Class 1A level and looks to win many state titles. Our coaches are dedicated men who strive for excellence both on and off the field and encourage each of our student athletes to display positive morals. I would invite your son to get involved and participate in an athletic activity to enhance their experience at Lyman Ward Military Academy.

I Corinthians  9:24-25 “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.”

Best Regards,
