COL (Ret.) Albert W. Jenrette

Colonel Bill Jenrette was born in Conway, S.C. and grew up in nearby Georgetown, S.C. where he graduated from Winyah High School. After graduation he enrolled at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and graduated with a B.A. degree in Political Science. As a Distinguished Military Graduate he entered the military with a Commission in the US Army as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry.

During his military career he served in command and staff position in units within the United States and abroad and advanced to the grade of Colonel at the time of his retirement. His service includes two tours in the Republic of Vietnam, first as a staff officer and company commander in the 1st Infantry Division and later as a District Senior Advisor for Phong Dien District in Can Tho Province, RVN. Following his second tour in Vietnam, Colonel Jenrette was assigned as the JROTC Senior Army Instructor at Lyman Ward Military Academy. During his tour of duty at LWMA the Academy received its first award of the JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction, a tradition that has continued unbroken since that time. Colonel Jenrette also served as the principal Operations Planner in the Northern Army Group, British Army of the Rhine in Rheindahlen, Germany and as Commander of the 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry, 3rd Infantry Division in Schweinfurt, Germany. Prior to his retirement he was the Senior Army Advisor for the 63rd Army Reserve Command in Los Alamitos, CA. Following his retirement Colonel Jenrette joined the staff of Lyman Ward Military Academy as the Commandant of Cadets, where he served until 1995.

During his military career Colonel Jenrette received his MA Degree in Administration from California State University and graduated from the Army Command and General Staff College and the Army War College.

After leaving Lyman Ward Military Academy in 1995, Colonel Jenrette worked in the private sector, most recently as the Executive Vice President of HDI Solutions, Inc, in Auburn, AL.

Colonel Jenrette was appointed as the President of Lyman Ward Academy on May 26th 2007.
